Tuition exchange applications are due Friday, Oct. 15
The tuition exchange (TE) program enables eligible dependent children of faculty and staff to apply for undergraduate scholarships at participating member institutions. More than 700 national colleges and universities participate in the TE program, and you can view participants at tuitionexchange.org. You are required to complete the four steps below if you and your child are interested in applying to the TE program:
- Review the TE policy and submit the Saint Mary’s application (HR page) with a $35 check to the HR Office.
- Visit tuitionexchange.org and complete the online application (you may select up to 10 schools).
- Ensure your child applies for admission to each school of interest.
- Wait for the desired school(s) decision. The desired school(s) must approve your child to be ‘imported’ to their school through the exchange for the benefit to go into effect.
The following information is specific to Saint Mary’s membership in the TE program:
- Dependent children of full-time employees are eligible for tuition scholarships at member schools of the TE program.
- Decisions are communicated in November.
- If you have applied in past years but have not been awarded a scholarship, you should submit a new application to be reconsidered for fall 2022.
- If your child is currently receiving a TE scholarship AND is continuing in fall 2022, you should complete a Saint Mary’s renewal application by Monday, Feb. 28. The online TE application is not required for renewals.
Saint Mary’s is also a member of the Catholic College Cooperative Tuition Exchange (CCCTE). You can find information for this program on Blackboard, at cccte.org, or through the Financial Aid Office on the Winona Campus. There is no application deadline for CCCTE. Lastly, Saint Mary’s offers a program which allows your child to apply to Saint Mary’s under 100% tuition remission. There is no application deadline for Tuition Remission.
