Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies
This three-year residential course of study that meets for two weeks each summer is an intensive Lasallian formation and education program that studies the life and work of St. John Baptist de La Salle and the origins of the Lasallian mission. Through analysis of the writings of De La Salle and an analysis of some modern educators, participants deepen their understanding of the Lasallian heritage and its influence on contemporary education. Participation in the Buttimer Institute is open to faculty and staff.
The 2023 program will be held Sunday, June 25 through Saturday, July 8 at Manhattan College in New York.
Lasallian Social Justice Institute (LSJI)
This annual one-week workshop, held in different locations around the country, attempts to ground participants experientially, practically, and spiritually in the Catholic social teachings on social justice and in the preferential option for the poor that is a hallmark of Lasallian identity. The LSJI is open to faculty and staff.
The 2023 program will take place Monday, July 17 through Friday, July 21 at the La Salle Educational Center in Homestead, Florida. LSJI is capped to 14 participants through a first-come/first-served registration process. This year’s program will create awareness of the present reality of the immigrant community in Homestead. Over the week, participants will have an opportunity to interact with the local community, visit local agencies and gain perspective on the immigrant experience.
IALU Leadership Program in Rome
