During the last week of classes we are taking time each day to share the available career resources students have at all times. Today the resource spotlight is on the “Build Career Skills” section of our website. If you would like to partner with Career Services to have any of the listed topics below presented to your classroom/group, please feel free to fill out this form to start planning for the Fall semester: https://forms.gle/i11jLJAUxCSNU81DA or email us at careerservices@smumn.edu.

When selecting the “Build Career Skills” dropdown you will find categories across different stages of career development. Students still just starting out? Have them explore their interests and learn about career competencies. Do you have graduating students looking for that next opportunity? They can check out the job/internship search strategies or preparing for graduate school sections. Received a job offer? Check out the negotiating strategies and how to accept/decline an offer. Be sure they are prepared for that first role by checking out the launching your career guide. Already settled into a career? Be sure to keep up with career management

Students can keep their career toolkit updated by frequently reviewing their resume/cover letter and LinkedIn. We also recommend they keep their networking and interviewing strategies sharp!

In each section you will find relevant articles, resources, and videos. We add new content each week, so encourage students to check back often. Note, at the top of our site you are also welcome to select “Customize Your Career Content”, so you can be notified when areas of interest are updated.
