The mileage reimbursement rate for business travel in a personal vehicle will increase from $0.55 to $0.65 per mile for all eligible miles driven on or after Nov. 1, 2026. This change reflects higher vehicle operating costs and has been reviewed against the FY27 travel budget. Reimbursement must fit within the parameters of the current FY27 budget.
What you need to do
- Submit all October 2026 mileage by Oct. 31, 2026, via Chrome River. October mileage will be reimbursed at the current rate of $0.55 per mile.
- Report November mileage separately. Do not combine October and November trips on the same expense report. Miles driven on or after Nov. 1 will be reimbursed at $0.65 per mile.
- Keep logging trips as usual. Each entry must include the date, starting point, destination, business purpose, and round-trip miles.
Late October submissions
Mileage for October travel submitted after Oct. 31 will still be reimbursed at $0.55 per mile and may be delayed. Approvers should return any report that mixes October and November travel so it can be split.
