Student Senate Meeting Minutes

3/31/26

President Garrett Rotzien called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Resolution #005: Phase 2 Cameras $7,542

  • This resolution is for the second phase of cameras for campus. These are for Hillside Hall, Toner, Aquinas, and Brother William Hall. Student Senate is covering half of this half.

Winchell Biology Research Symposium Academic Request: $300

  • Four students are hoping to go to St. Paul, MN to present their biology research. They are looking for money to cover their registration fees.

  • They are hoping for money for equipment for social media, subscriptions, PRSA invite event, posting serving, refreshments, and speakers for events for next school year.

  • SAGA is hoping to get money for culture, history, and current events. They are hoping to get rental subscription money, stickers, posterboards, snacks, and beverages for next school year.

  • This club is hoping to get money for fleece to make baby blankets, advertisements for Fireside and Gaslight, and expenses for their Washington D.C. for their prolife march trip.

  • This club is hoping to get money for movie rentals, creative supplies, concession materials, and prizes.

Benefit Dance Budget for 26-27 School Year: $1,690

  • Benefit Dance puts on a dance and event for a faculty, staff, or student to support them through a specific benefit. They are hoping to get money for a DJ for the dance, decorations, mocktails, stamps, and snacks.

  • This club is hoping to get money for items for a raffle basket and food for making meals for the Hope Lodge, rubber ducks, and treats for events for next school year.

  • The dance team is hoping to get money for new dance shoes, as theirs are getting old and worn. They are also looking for more inclusive sizes on the shoes too.

  • Please fill out the Senator of the year and Eboard Member of the Year, they were sent out at 7pm. These will be awarded at the senate banquet.

Noah Lahner, Vice President of Financial Affairs

  • Nothing to report. 

Javier Rodriguez, Vice President of Campus Affairs

  • The shipment for the dumbbells should arrive this week.
  • We are looking for some ideas for outdoor seating throughout campus.  

Zoe Fink, Vice President of Academic Affairs

  • Nothing to report. 

Reese Heitzman, Vice President of Public Affairs

  • Nothing to report.

Freshmen

  • We will be selling hotdogs and chips in the Gazebo for the softball and baseball games on April 11th! Card/tap pay only! 

Sophomores

  • We made $59.60 on our baked good fundraiser on Monday, thank you to everyone who supported us!

Juniors

  • We will be selling alcohol at Plazapoolza from 6-9pm on April 24th! Card/tap pay only. 21+ only. 

Seniors

  • We are working on planning Gaslight for the Spring right now!
