The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has released updated guidance for how people can protect themselves and their communities from respiratory viruses, including COVID-19. The new guidance inlcudes a single set of recommendation to address risks from a range of common respiratory viral illnesses, such as COVID-19, flu, and RSV.  These new recommendations are being made as the the U.S. is seeing far fewer hospitalizations and deaths associated with COVID-19 and there are more tools to fight flu, COVID, and RSV.

As a result  of this new guidance, the university is rescinding its prior COVID policies and protocols.  The COVID webpage has been removed from the university website.  It has been replaced with a section on respiratory illnesses on the Student Health Services webpage.  We ask faculty, staff, and students to review  and adopt the recommendations on how to address respiratory illnesses.

Together we are Saint Mary’s.  Togther we are stronger.
