On Monday, April 13, at 5:00 PM, we will be pushing a software update to all university-owned laptops.

What you need to know:

  • The update will be pushed to your laptop automatically sometime in the next 24 hours. You do not need to take any manual steps to begin the installation but it will be staggered across all of our laptops.
  • To complete the update, your laptop will need to be restarted. Once the installation finishes, you will receive a prompt on your screen asking you to reboot. You may delay this restart for up to 4 hours if you are currently working. Please note that after 4 hours, the system will perform the restart automatically to finalize the update. We recommend saving your work and restarting as soon as you see the prompt to avoid any interruptions.

We suggest leaving your laptop powered on and connected to the internet on Monday evening to allow the process to complete.
