This week marks the beginning of SGPP Fall Term II, while simultaneously, students at the College have just finished Midterms. As such, instructors might want to consider creating a new course announcement that welcomes or congratulates their students. For example, a new course announcement that congratulates students on completing midterms or welcomes them to the start of Fall Term II.

Did you know that there is a feature in Canvas that allows your most recent course announcement to appear right at the top of your course homepage? The major benefit of this feature is that it allows your most recent announcements to appear “front and center” on your course homepage. This makes it easier for students to locate the new announcement, while also giving the announcement a sense of gravity. And here is the best part: instructors can activate this Canvas feature in just a few simple steps.

The Instructional Technology has created a brief tutorial on how to accomplish this task in Canvas. Document: How to make your recent announcements appear on your course homepage
