Trapshooting is one of the fastest growing sports not only in Minnesota, but the nation.  It is also one of the safest sports per the USA College Clay Target League.  So, what is trapshooting?  Trapshooting is a sport that uses a firearm (shotgun) to hit moving clay targets that are launched from a trap house into the air.  It requires both mental and physical strength to accomplish.

Saint Mary’s has the opportunity to be a collegiate trapshooting destination!  We have access to a state of the art sportsmen’s club here in Winona and all competitions through the USA College Clay Target League are virtual, which means travel is kept to a minimum.  Become a conference or even a national champion today!

So, were you part of your high school trapshooting team?  Do you have interest in this sport?  If so, please think about creating a trapshooting club here at Saint Mary’s!

For more information about the sport, or questions about starting this club, please reach out to the Director of Club Sports: Nick Pritchard (npritcha@smumn.edu).
