As we celebrate the Easter season, we are reminded of the transformative power of Christ’s resurrection, which renews our faith, strengthens our hope, and calls us to live with love and service. In John 21, we witness Jesus appearing to His disciples after the resurrection, meeting them in their daily work, and calling Peter to reaffirm his love:
“Do you love me? Feed my sheep.” (John 21:17)
This passage serves as a powerful reminder, both to the disciples, as well as us today, that right after Christ rose from the dead, his primary concern was with the feeding of his sheep. Our mission, especially within the Lasallian tradition of education and service, is a response to Christ’s request of the first disciples. Just as Christ called His followers to shepherd and care for others, we, too, are called to be stewards of faith, wisdom, and compassion in our university community. Our commitment to excellence in education is not just about knowledge but about forming individuals who embody faith, service, and fraternity.
Saint John Baptist de La Salle reminds us that an “Example makes a much greater impression than words.”
As we continue our journey through this academic year, let us strive to be examples of faith in action, dedicating ourselves to uplifting others—our students, colleagues, and communities. May the joy of Easter renew our hearts and inspire us to walk with integrity, humility, and love.
Wishing you all a blessed and joyful Easter season.
