Today marks 100 days until Saint Mary’s enters the “Go Dark” time of switching from our current Student Information System (SIS) to Jenzabar J1. As mentioned in the Cardinal Update yesterday, during the “Go Dark” period of about 3 weeks, transactions in the software will be limited to minimize dual entry of data into both systems. More information about this will be shared as more plans are made and the time gets closer.

In celebration of this major milestone, to bring awareness, and to kick off our search for a new portal name, IT staff will be handing out dark chocolate. Attached is a coupon, valid today only, for a discounted drink in either the Cardinal Coffee in Winona or the Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Minneapolis.

Also attached to the candy is a QR code that will take you to this form where you can enter your idea for the name of the new student and faculty portal. Prizes will be awarded and you can enter as many names as you like so BRING ON THE CREATIVITY!!!

The top three names will be chosen by Marketing and Communication and the Saint Mary’s community will then vote on the final name during the week of April 3-7th. The winning name will be announced on Monday April 10th.

A big thank you to Anna Kelly, a student in Dean Beckman’s Campaign class for all of her help in creating materials and planning the fun.

As a reminder, the go dark (when we start limiting the use of CAMS) is June 23rd. We will be live on Jenzabar by July 17th.
