The spring teams have been adjusting to whatever weather comes their way, but it’s been no issue — it’s nothing they haven’t handled before!

CONFERENCE WEEK FOR BASEBALL

The Cardinal baseball team (11-8) started their conference schedule strong at home, sweeping Concordia (8-8) on Friday with an outstanding defensive performance to remain undefeated at home this season.

The team will travel to St. Olaf (9-5) on Tuesday for the Oles’ conference opener, with a doubleheader starting at 2:30 p.m. They’ll then return home to host Macalester (4-10) on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. for two.

SOFTBALL SPLITS

The Saint Mary’s softball team (15-3) secured two dominant wins over St. Catherine (7-11) to open conference play with a 2-0 record.

This Wednesday, the Cardinals are excited for their home opener, hosting Carleton (7-9) for two games starting at 3:30 p.m. They will then head up to Duluth for a doubleheader against St. Scholastica (4-8), starting at 1:00 p.m.

TRACK & FIELD IN IOWA

Last week, the Saint Mary’s track and field team spent a long weekend competing in St. Louis against Division I and II schools.

This week, they will head to Iowa to compete in the Norse Invitational, hosted by Luther College on Saturday, marking their second outdoor meet of the season.

TENNIS ON THE ROAD

The Cardinal tennis team wrapped up their final home match of the season on Saturday for Senior Day. Unfortunately, they were unable to secure a win in either the men’s or women’s matches, falling to the Pipers in a close contest.

They aim to bounce back on Saturday as they travel to St. Scholastica with the conference season nearing its end. The women will compete at 12:00 p.m., followed by the men’s match at 3:00 p.m.

The spring schedule for Saint Mary’s athletics is constantly changing because of the weather, so be sure to stay updated on any schedule adjustments by following our SMUMNAthletics socials!
