How does academic writing differ across the world? As it turns out, a great deal. The peer tutors at the Writing Center are helping international students at SMU navigate the conventions of academic writing in the U.S. through a program called Writing Ambassadors. Incoming international students have been paired with ambassadors (Writing Center peer tutors), who will assist tutees with writing assignments during their first semester. Many thanks to the International Center for allowing the Writing Center to host a meet and greet for tutees and ambassadors in the lounge of the Heights on September 9.
