Passover is the most sacred and widely observed of the Jewish holidays. It celebrates the deliverance of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt and their being passed over by the angel of death killing the firstborn – the last of the ten plagues sent by God to Egypt. The children of Israel were spared by God. This eight day holiday has a number of important rituals, including the traditional seder meal and avoiding leaven. It begins at sunset on April 12 and ends at nightfall on April 20. Throughout the week, there are restrictions regarding work.
May we always remember the promise of God to those that are faithful to him.
