Thanksgiving Break Information 2022

Residence halls close for Thanksgiving Break on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. Key card access will be shut off at this time if you are not registered to stay on campus for break. Halls will reopen at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022.

If you need to remain on campus for Thanksgiving Break contact the Office of Residence Life at reslife@smumn.edu to request the Thanksgiving Break Housing form. The form needs to completed by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 or a $10 late fee will be assigned to your student account.

Only those students who will be participating in SAINT MARY’S SPONSORED activities, traveling long distances of 8 hours or more or international students will be granted break housing unless specifically approved by the Office of Residence Life. A $35 per night fee may be added to a student account for remaining on campus for reasons other than those stated above. Students who do not register for break housing are not permitted to remain on campus. A student is found to be on campus without registering with Residence Life will face a fine and/or loss of campus housing.

If you are going home for Thanksgiving Break, please complete the break checkout form in eRezLife. This form needs to be completed before departing campus. The form will open on Wednesday, November 18, 2022. 

One form must be completed whether you are staying on campus or going home. If you fail to complete a form there will be a $35 non-compliance fine added to your student account.

Food service will not be available for break. On Tuesday, November 22, the dining hall will close at 1:30 p.m.,  the Market at 4:00pm and the Cardinal Club will close at 5:00 p.m. Food service will reopen on Monday, November 28 for dinner only beginning 5:00 p.m.

The Cardinal Coop food pantry will be open Vlazny Hall kitchen during break from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. daily.
