GeoSpatial Services of Saint Mary’s (GSS) has openings for paid student internships in our Winona offices. GSS is a Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota project center that provides GIS and natural resource-related project services to clients across the U.S. Much of the work that GSS is engaged in focuses on natural resource management; however, we happily accept student interns from all majors and disciplines. Students working at GSS find the project activities very rewarding in terms of work experience, technical skill development, and career advancement. Students receive considerable work experience while completing their degrees.
GSS hiring is conducted through an interview process and we are inviting students to submit a resume and letter of interest in order to participate in the interviews. We provide full training and development for all of our students and no prior GIS experience is required.
The positions start at $15/hr. and are considered full-time summer positions based on the student’s availability. Summer housing is available in the same way other campus positions are offered as well as daily lunch in the SMU cafeteria. These positions can be continued during the school year and are generally 10 – 40 hours per week, depending on other commitments. Our offices in Winona are open from 6:00 am – 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday and meet our student’s needs well. The offices are located on the SMU campus as well as on the WSU campus.
If you are interested in one of these internships, please apply through Handshake or email a resume and cover letter by March 3rd to Eric Lindquist at elindqui@smumn.edu, or call at 507-457-8748 with questions.
