This is the second year Elijah Williams, who is the current Saint Mary’s University Student Senate president, has sat on two national committees for the American Physician Scientist Association. Elijah sits on the event’s committee which works to plan the yearly national meeting in Chicago, Ill. The committee works very closely with graduate schools, current M.D./Ph.D. trainees, and medical schools/institutions to put together a great event which draws people from all over the country. Elijah also sits on the National Mentorship Ad-hoc Committee which runs both the Graduate and Undergraduate Mentorship programs. This program typically has approximately 800-1,000 participants (both mentors and mentees) from across the country. Elijah works to help organize the program, helps communicate with schools for outreach, works to help manually match mentor-mentee pairs when needed, and much more.

Thank you for making us proud, Elijah!
