    2. Mary Furlong, vice president for academic affairs
      1. I am meeting with the Dean of the College tomorrow. We now have student representation on the Integratus Assessment Committee, so a big thank you to Maria Flynn.
      2. Pizza with the provost is coming up Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the dining room during common time. I hope you all stop by and meet him then, you can just say a quick hello, and you can mention you are on student senate!
      3. Encourage your friends to make appointments at the writing center if they need some help or just want someone to look over their papers. You can make an appointment for an in person or zoom session online by searching up the writing center or scanning the QR codes around campus.
    3. Joseph Schauf, vice president for financial affairs
      1. I have officially received the first completed special request of the year. The Finance Committee should start meeting within the week and will hopefully have the request to you by next week.
    4. Jonathon Krull, vice president for public affairs
      1. Twigz and I will be meeting next week to discuss planning a highway cleanup for this fall.
      2. If there are areas of concern in regards to mask wearing please let me know and the university will increase signage.
      3. This Saturday is SMUMN at the Farmers Market! Please stop by between 8 a.m. and noon at Levee Park. There will be a Polish Festival from 2 to 10 p.m. at Levee Park as well featuring live music, food, and activities. Please stop by, one of our goals this year on senate is to have a bigger presence in the Winona community and this is a step in the right direction!
    5. Angel Sacta Espinoza, vice president for campus affairs
      1. I contacted maintenance in regards to the senator’s complaints about wasps and “Oak Galls.” Specifically, I contacted Jim Bedtke and Tim Stensgard. They are doing their best about the wasp issue and will be monitoring the oak gall issue by Saint Yon’s.
    6. Lyanna Novak, vice president for student affairs
      1. Vaccinate cards or exemptions are due Oct. 8
      2. The Flu Clinic will take place on Oct. 20
    7. Riley Hall, vice president for media and communications
      1. Nothing to report
    8. Destiny Walker, vice president for multicultural affairs
      1. Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA), Merging Intercultural Experience (MIX), and Black Students and Allies (BSA) have started meeting. SAGA meets Tuesdays at 7pm in the common room, BSA will have their first meeting October 7th (time and space to be determined), and MIX meets Mondays. The Diversity cafe committee is still looking for student participants and will be meeting soon. Diversity cafe is also looking for presenters. Should you be interested in serving on the Diversity cafe committee, please contact me at dxwalk14@smumn.edu.
    9. Sophia O’Neil, executive assistant
      1. I have had my first meeting with the Ed- Standards Committee and I will have more information to come.
