Student Senate Goals for this coming year: Through collaboration, professional development, and duties laid out in the Student Senate Constitution, the Student Senate shall work to establish administration involvement with the student body of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. This shall be done through multiple avenues such as through the work of various Student Senate committees, the duties and responsibilities of the executive officers of the Student Senate, and the advocacy for more social events that increase student involvement in university decisions.

Next week we will be reviewing four articles of the student senate bylaws, please look at your emails for an update as to what will be updated and brought to the senate floor for a vote. We will be looking at changing the fundraising requirements for clubs and organizations which will be presented at the leaders meeting this coming Sunday, December 5.

There have been continued concerns surrounding masking at indoor sporting events; specifically that of hockey games. The policy to wear masks as spectators comes directly from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and must be strictly followed. If this does not get better, the MIAC has the ability to deny spectators from our indoor sporting events. More information will be coming out shortly, so please keep an eye out for this. Senators are expected to be masked at these events due to university and MIAC policies.
