Student Senate Meeting Minutes
12/9/25
President Garrett Rotzien called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Golf Club Introduction:
- Anyone who is interested can join. Is hoping to help and bring golfers with any experience to a club in Saint Mary’s.
- 1st Goal: Running the golf simulator and keeping it up. Keeping a good experience for the students who are using it. There is a hope that all golf club members will be able to use the golf simulator a decent amount, as well.
- 2nd Goal: Throughout the winter months to do weekly scores and competitions.
- 3rd Goal: As it warms up outside, we are hoping to get a part of a local golf course and hopefully have some free rounds at the course.
- There were 8 signatures who were interested, but also more seemed interested in Golf Club.
Golf Club is Senate Recognized! Everyone agreed
Resolution 001: Card Scanner for Golf Club Simulator
- This would give a security standpoint on the golf simulator and would grant certain people access and would be given through Campus Safety.
- It would cost around $3,500 for all of this to be implemented.
- There would be training days for people to learn how to use the golf simulator and know how to use it properly. These people would be granted key card access.
- There would be time intervals that students could “rent” it out to use for a time being.

Resolution 002: Drinking Fountain Filter
- As Student Senate we have put drinking fountains around campus, so now we are in need of more drinking fountain filters around campus. Maintenance is looking for this money from us, since we put this into a capital improvement and this is our project.

- Keep an eye out for events happening during SnowDaze in the first two weeks of the spring semester. Also, on January 8th, the Spring Involvement Fair will take place.

JJ Garcia, Vice President of Multicultural Affairs
- Campus Ministry and Por La Cultura invite you to the Virgen de Guadalupe Mass this Friday, December 12th at 5 p.m. in the campus chapel. It’s a beautiful tradition and a great chance to pause and reconnect as you wrap up the semester. Por La Cultura will also be selling roses for $1 if you’d like to purchase one.
