Stressed about going home for break?

Traveling home for break and the semester nearing an end can be a stressful time for many of us. Stress is defined as a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation. Experiencing stress is a natural human response that prompts us to address challenges and threats in our lives. Everyone experiences varying levels of stress throughout their lives. Common stressors can include school, work, social obligations, and household responsibilities.

There are a variety of ways to cope with stress including: 

  • Prioritize the tasks you need to do
  • Look for humor in your daily life; share it with others 
  • Talk and listen to your loved ones as much as possible 
  • Practice gratitude 
  • Incorporate exercise into your weekly routine
