STEM Education in High School Panel Discussion

The ISTEP-Noyce Scholarship Program invites all members of Saint Mary’s University to a panel discussion on STEM Education in High Schools. The discussion will be held in Aquinas 200 on Tuesday, October 25th at 4pm.

Members of the panel will discuss their paths to becoming STEM educators, the highlights and challenges of being a STEM educator, and be available to answer questions for those interested in STEM education careers.

The panelists are:

  • Brenda Brockland – Prairie Ridge High School, Crystal Lake, IL
  • Jeanette Stewart – Marist School, Atlanta, GA
  • Alice Putti – Jenison High School, Jenison, MI

All three panelists have been heavily involved in creating and scoring the AP Chemistry exam as well as serving as consultants for the teaching of the AP Chemistry curriculum. Additionally, Ms. Putti is the 2022 American Chemical Society James Bryant Conant Award Winner for Outstanding High School Chemistry Teaching.
