I wanted to provide you with some essential updates regarding the upcoming SP24 Courses. Please take a moment to review the information below.

SP24 Canvas Course Updates:

Course Availability: On the morning of December 11, Canvas courses will be made available. These courses will contain content imported from your corresponding main course shell. Going forward, please remember to make all necessary edits within your term-prefixed courses (SP24) exclusively. You can find detailed information on our Canvas course processes (click here to read more on our Canvas course processes).  In the meantime, I kindly request that you refrain from updating the main course shells and focus on making edits in your term prefixed courses as of Dec. 8 by noon. The goal is to ensure that the most current edits are automatically copied over when the term prefixed courses are automated.

Publishing Deadline: In just under two weeks all courses must be made available to your students. Faculty members are responsible for publishing their courses unless your program has requested automatic publishing. If you wish to opt into the auto-publishing feature, please submit your request here. We will provide further communications as we approach the publishing deadline.

Resources for Preparation: To ensure your readiness for the upcoming term, we have compiled a list of valuable resources to assist you:

  • Course Readiness Checklist: This document is designed to guide you through various course aspects to ensure your course is well-prepared for your learners. (MSW please ignore this checklist at this time)
  • CELT (Center for the Excellence in Learning and Teaching) Website: Visit the CELT website for a schedule of ongoing training sessions available for Canvas. Additionally, recorded training sessions are accessible on the CELT site. Topics covered include Canvas, Turnitin, Panopto, and more.
  • reIMAGINE Learner Engagement  Course in Canvas: Explore this course to discover exemplar activities from across the university, recommended engagement strategies and tools, and the reIMAGINE Process, where you can collaborate with a member of Educational Technology to enhance learner engagement throughout your course.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your success in delivering a top-notch educational experience is our top priority.

Thank you for your dedication and hard work in preparing for the upcoming term.
