Andrea Carroll-Glover, vice provost of online strategy and programs, and Carrie Wandler, interim director of CELT, delivered a presentation at the Association for Continuing Higher Education Conference last Tuesday. Their presentation, “Boldly Going Where No Catholic University Has Gone — Celebrating Student Success and Achievements Through Digital Badges,” focused on the innovative approach that Saint Mary’s has taken to scaffold, launch and scale digital badging across a wide range of programs. As Wandler explained, “Many institutions are just starting to consider how they can leverage digital badging to support the professional portfolios of their students. Saint Mary’s stands out as an example of how taking an innovative approach to badging can allow smaller institutions to scale digital badging successfully in a relatively short amount of time. Our story is changing what other higher ed institutions are seeing as possible, which is very exciting!”
