- Social Worker (MSW)
- Psychologist (Doctoral Degree) *** (See below)
- Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselors (LPMHC)
- Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT)

VA will provide funding to cover up to two years of graduate studies for individuals pursuing these degrees and who will then serve full time for a period of six years at one of VA’s 300 Vet Centers across the country, specifically, in underserved areas and in states with a per-capita population of more than 5% Veterans.
Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active-duty service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families.
Key Requirements:
• U.S. citizenship (U.S. Veterans will be considered first among all equally qualified candidates).
• Must be currently enrolled or unconditionally accepted into a qualified degree program as stated above.
• Selection criteria includes academic performance, work experience, faculty and employer recommendations, and career goals.
• All candidates will be subject to a background/suitability investigation.
• To officially accept the scholarship, selected applicants must sign a mobility agreement as well as an agreement to complete a service obligation of six years at a Vet Center after graduating and obtaining necessary licensure/certification.
