Students from ED 364: The Mission of Educators within the Catholic Church, taught by Robertolino Vargas, collaborated with the International Center to create a traditional Mexican Altar de Muertos (Day of the Dead altar).
Día de los Muertos is a meaningful Mexican tradition that brings together faith, culture, and community. Closely connected to the Catholic celebrations of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, this tradition invites us to remember and pray for our deceased loved ones while reflecting on our Christian hope in the Resurrection.
The altar will be on display in the Heights Building on the Winona campus through Friday, November 6. All students, faculty, and staff are warmly invited to visit the altar, reflect, and offer a prayer in remembrance of their loved ones who have passed away.
