I hope you all had a relaxing winter break, and are getting back into the kick of things for the second semester. I know there have been many questions regarding S.O.U.L, and I first wanted to tell you all a huge thank you for your interest and patience with us and the decision regarding the trips.
Many things were considered while making this decision. Unfortunately, the S.O.U.L council and I made the executive decision of not offering the trips this year. I know this isn’t the news you all wanted to hear. The unfortunate circumstances of COVID-19 have made the logistics of the trips very difficult to plan. We wanted to make sure we took into consideration the safety of the Saint Mary’s communities and the vulnerable communities we were going to visit.
However, S.O.U.L is  looking to plan weekend volunteer trips around the area once it starts getting warm again. We are thinking of taking a trip to the cities or Rochester or even in Winona. So keep on the look-out for that email. If you know anyone that would be interested in this opportunity please direct them to me, Karen Valdez,

at kavald18@smumn.edu or our adviser, Sister Mary Elizabeth Ann, RSM (mmccullo@smumn.edu).
