After 34 years of exemplary service to the University, Ann Merchlewitz, J.D., Senior Vice President and General Counsel, will be retiring. Please join us in the Toner Student Center Lounge, Winona Campus, on Thursday, Sept. 10, anytime from 3:00-5:00 p.m., for refreshments and to celebrate with Ann.
We are grateful to Ann for her tremendous work and years of dedication. Her leadership and commitment have greatly strengthened our university’s mission and community.
With faculty, staff, and students alike, she has been a constant source of encouragement, humor, and hope. She has a way of lifting people up, reminding us why we do this work, and making even the hardest days feel a little lighter. Her “mission-first” mindset has never been abstract — it has been lived, shared, and celebrated in everything she does.
Saint Mary’s is stronger, more vibrant, and more alive because of Ann. She has been a champion of our university in every corner — from athletics to co-curricular life to our students across all campuses — bringing both a deep sense of purpose and a joy that is unmistakably her own.
