After discussions with Student Senate, Campus Safety, Student Life, Maintenance and IT, the university has decided to remove the emergency blue lights currently located around the Winona campus this summer.
Campus safety does not have any record of a legitimate emergency being reported with one of these devices. The increase in cell phone availability has also decreased the need for a system like this, and with the increasing need for repairs on these older systems and lack of use, it’s been decided to remove them.
