Remembering Dr. Paula K. Solon

Dr. Paula Solon, long time adjunct faculty member for the Counseling and Psychological Services MA program, passed away on March 8, 2022. This announcement was delayed in order to respect the wishes of Dr. Solon and her family. Dr. Solon taught at Saint Mary’s University for over thirty years.  She was exceptionally committed to educating and supporting emerging counselors.  Her work ethic was one of her outstanding strengths.  She had high standards for students, faculty and for herself, as was known for her straight forward and uncompromising appraisal of things. She had a quirky sense of humor which brought levity to difficult situations. Her zest for life made being around her energizing and engaging.  For over three decades Paula Solon has been a mainstay in the development of the Counseling and Psychological Services Program at Saint Mary’s University.  Dr. Solon’s passing is a loss for Saint Mary’s University and for those the many students and colleagues who valued her friendship, her camaraderie and her academic achievements.
