A massive thank you to everyone who helped organize, host, and participate in our 13th Annual Career & Internship Fair! With a final count of 434 students and alumni, this was Saint Mary’s largest fair turnout yet!

Survey Winners & Feedback

Thank you to everyone who completed our post-event survey – your input helps us make each year better than the last. Two students were selected at random to receive a Saint Mary’s tumbler… 🥁

🎉 Congratulations to Gunjwok Deng & Kiarra Young! Look out for an email from us (careerservices@smumn.edu) with instructions on how to claim your prize.

Top Tips from Your Peers

Here is some of the advice students shared for tackling future fairs:

  • Cast a Wide Net: “Be open minded to organizations you may not initially think go with your intended major, organizations have many different departments”

  • Preparation Payoff: “Making sure to print at least 5 copies of the resume to give to potential employers (Really helped this year as my resume got back to a HR recruiter that wasn’t at the event and they reached out for a meeting). Looking up potential companies of interest, and making sure to utilize the services offered by the career services office.” & “Try to know information on the businesses that you will be attending and make sure to have questions ready.”

  • Relax & Enjoy: “Have fun with it! The employers are just normal people.”

What Recruiters Are Saying

The employers were blown away by your professionalism, preparation, and energy:

“The students were engaging and excited to be there – well dressed (better than me after the rain, for sure!) and even for some who visited us where their major didn’t match what we do, we held what felt like meaningful conversations about their plans and direction, and even were able to offer out of the box ideas for them to consider for their futures. It was so much fun and we’d love to return next year!”

“The students were very professional and prepared to meet with employers – I appreciated how willing they were to speak about their future plans and entertain different career paths. I loved the wide range of majors that participated (we hire any major so it’s exciting to get new perspectives from students that did not have a business role in mind).”

“Great chance to connect with engaged students – I liked that they had some questions to drive conversation, and even the freshmen were treating this like a good exercise.”
