Tomorrow, December 6, at 3:00 p.m. it is a Cardinal gameday… not any gameday.

Saint Mary’s Women’s Hockey takes the ice tomorrow for something bigger than the game itself, as the Cardinals host their Rally for Riley event in support of teammate Riley Vander Esch. Fans are encouraged to wear grey to help raise awareness for pediatric brain cancer.

Before puck drop, Riley will take part in a special ceremonial puck drop. Throughout the afternoon, multiple fundraising opportunities will benefit brain tumor research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. All ticket sales, concessions, Chuck-a-Puck entries, and silent auction proceeds will go directly to the cause. Card readers will also be available for those wishing to make a direct donation.

In the lobby, fans can participate in a silent auction using either a simple paper bidding system or QR code. Winning bidders will finalize their donation through the official St. Jude page and can pick up their items on-site once confirmation is shown.

Riley’s journey is the heart of this event. Earlier this fall, she was diagnosed with a diffuse midline glioma (H3 K27), an aggressive brain tumor. As she wraps up radiation and prepares to begin the promising next treatment, ONC201, the Cardinals are uniting behind her strength, resilience, and fight.

Join us tomorrow to stand with Riley, support critical research, and show what it truly means to be a Cardinal on and off the ice.

Together, we play for Riley.
