The Pre-Law Society of Saint Mary’s University hosted the 13th annual Mock Trial in the Common Room on Nov. 2. Students acted as attorneys on both sides of a hotly contested criminal case: Prosecution: Guy Cardinal, Zoie Becker, and Abbie Lang; Defense: Mike Hegarty, Rosie Aschenbrener, and Daytona Dahler.
George Stephenson, a Saint Mary’s alumnus (’80), acted as the judge. Judge Stephenson has over 20 years experience as a District Court Judge for Ramsey County and, in addition to visiting with the student attorneys, also spoke with students in the Business Law class. Theater students acted as the witnesses along with other students. The event was well attended by students and staff and included a reception sponsored by the Business and Communication Department.
