Ruth Ann Kronberger, the grandmother of Senior Director for Arts and Event Services, Lynette Johnson, entered eternal life on Saturday, Sept. 30. Please join in praying for the repose of her soul. The obituary, along with funeral arrangements, can be found below:

Ruth Kronberger of Neillsville passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023.

Ruth was born Feb. 27,1935, the eldest daughter of Raymond and Mathilda (Freund) Burr. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1953. On Aug. 13, 1953, she was united in marriage to Wayne William Kronberger. Ruth and Wayne celebrated their 50th Anniversary Aug. 13, 2003.

In addition to raising a family of six children, she held jobs as a cook at St. Mary’s Catholic School, worked in retail at Skogmo’s, waitressed at The White Horse Inn and finished her career at Nelson Filter, Neillsville. She enjoyed her retirement with Wayne, going antique shopping and finding treasures at garage sales to add to their collection. She also spent many years volunteering at the Neillsville Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop.

Ruth’s true love and talent was designing and making beautiful quilts. She was a member of the Town & Country Quilt Guild and enjoyed attending quilt shows, admiring the talent of others. She took pride in gifting her quilts to family and local organizations, pediatric and cancer patients, veterans and school children in need.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Diane (Richard) Friedemann, Stratford, and Lori (Tim) Tresemer of Neillsville; her sons, Craig (Diane) Kronberger, Neillsville, and Keith (Donna) Kronberger of Marshfield. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law,  Jenny (Mark) Kronberger and Gayle (David) Kronberger, both of Neillsville; grandchildren Dori Friedemann, Jamie Kronberger, Ryan Kronberger, Kristine Boon, Tiffany Tresemer, Lynette Johnson, Brent Kronberger, Ben Corcoran, Luke Kronberger, Angela Kronberger and Melissa Wampole; great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Brayden and Hudson Corcoran, Natalie, Fletcher and Baylee Boon, Everlee Kronberger, Brianna and Elsie Jarver; and great-great-granddaughter Tera Jarver. She is also survived by sister Delores (Don) Dahlke, Janesville; brother Ken (Delores) Burr, Marshfield; sister-in-law Jean Lavey, Nekoosa; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Kronberger; sons Mark Kronberger and David Kronberger; an infant daughter; and grandson Kurtis Tresemer.

A celebration of life for Ruth is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at Apple Valley, Neillsville, in the event room from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
