About Noon on Saturday, Brother Charlie Burke went home to God. He was 90 and had lived at Lake Winona Manor for a long time. As of this time, no funeral plans have been set.
Over the course of many years, in addition to some years on the east coast as well as at the University of Notre Dame, Brother Charlie worked at Saint Mary’s Press and at the College in the area of student life. We give the Brother Charlie Burke Award to a College faculty or staff member who contributes significantly to student life.
This past Sunday was Gaudete Sunday–so we can rejoice in the long and rich and full life that Brother Charlie Burke lived!
