Yesterday was Election Day.  We applaud those of you who exercised your right to vote as voting is critical to the democratic process.

As we move forward post-election, we know that Saint Mary’s values and expectations will not change. We are a community. We value the human dignity of each member. We believe in civil discourse.

As we move through the upcoming days and weeks, some of you may wish to share your perspectives, concerns, and anxieties regarding the future following the election. We encourage and support you in voicing your opinions. In this process, we urge you to engage in a manner that respects others and adheres to our collective dedication to civil discourse.

For students who may seek the assistance of a counselor, you have two options:  schedule a visit with Beth Martinka, our counselor from Winona Health, or speak with a counselor at Uwill, our teletherapy provider. To schedule an appointment with Ms. Martinka, you must call 507.474.5678 to register yourself in the Winona Health system before you can make an appointment. Be sure to mention that you are a Saint Mary’s University student. Once completed, you will receive an email with a direct link to make an account for the MyWH portal. This link is only active for 24 hours. You can then schedule on the MyWH portal going forward.  For Winona Health Portal instructions, click here. For teletherapy, register for Uwill and select from a diverse and experienced team of licensed mental health professionals. Within 24 hours, you can receive support from your assigned counselor in any format you like – video, chat, text, or phone. Uwill provides services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Remember, we are all Cardinals.  Together we are stronger.
