Saint Mary’s senior Brooklyn Paulson was named MIAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Paulson was an offensive juggernaut in Saint Mary’s showdown with St. Olaf last Wednesday, scoring 24 points on 9 of 20 shooting with two 3-pointers and a perfect 4-for-4 effort from the free throw line — and missed out our on her second double-double of the season by one rebound — in the Cardinals’ 72-63 loss to the Oles. Paulson followed that up with a 16-point, three-rebound effort in a 65-51 loss to Bethel three days later.
For the week, Paulson finished 16-for-42 from the field with three 3-pointers and a 5 of 6 showing from the charity stripe en route to her 20.0 ppg scoring average. She also totaled 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
