Saint Mary’s University Nursing students recently participated in the Play for Patrick event held on Saturday, October 4th at Dover-Eyota High School in Eyota.  About 182 students were screened for heart defects and 165 students and parents were taught CPR and AED awareness.   Nursing students got to put their skills into action while giving back to a local community.

Students who participated in the event were Kirsten Sims, Alaina Botz, Susie Mettler, Lindsey Rossow, and Caitlin Bakken.  Saint Mary’s University Clinical Nursing Instructor Andrea Lehnertz helped coordinate our nursing student volunteers.    Andrea said, “We were all in awe of what an amazing event this was.  What an amazing difference this made in many young people’s lives.”
