The M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program hosted their annual MFT Practicum Fair on Monday, October 16th. This year, 28 sites from across the greater Twin Cities metro attended to connect with students who will begin applying for their practicum year later this semester. Sites spanned across treatment settings, including private practices, in-home and school-based mental health agencies, day treatment centers, and more.
40 MFT students attended this year’s fair as part of their MFT pre-practicum course, which prepares students both professionally and personally for applying to sites, securing a placement, beginning clinical work, and working toward their goal of becoming Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs).
MFT Associate and Clinical Director, Sara Heinzen, MA, LMFT, said, “We are proud to be the only MFT program in the state that hosts a practicum fair for our students. Participants are invited from our curated list of approved sites across Minnesota. The first impressions and connections made here today are the beginning of our student’s professional networking in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy.”
