Try a digital detox, even a mini one. Setting up boundaries for yourself around digital media has been proven to increase feelings of happiness and decrease stress and anxiety. By limiting the amount of time you spend on digital media, you’ll actually get time back in your day. There are lots of ways to detox from digital media consumption. Try one of the ideas below!

Try a daily break. Set aside a time of your day when you will intentionally put all digital media away. It could be for as little as 15 or 30 minutes, or maybe you decide on a time of day you turn all notifications off and put your phone away — at least an hour before bed is best!

Limit mindless scrolling. Use Screen Time on iPhone or Digital Well-Being on Android to set time limits on the apps you find yourself scrolling the most. They’re designed to be addictive!

Turn off nonessential notifications. Your attention is precious. It’s also the greatest commodity for advertisers and influencers. Being particular about the notifications you allow can have a huge impact on how you go about your day. If you receive lots, start small: turn off notifications for one app and pay attention to how much time you get back simply by not being interrupted. Take back your attention!
