Students, faculty, and staff of Saint Mary’s–as well as outside members from the Winona community–are invited to join us as we consider whether science and religion must be “foes” or can be “friends.” Among other questions, panelists will explore two fundamental questions:

Why should scientists care about religion?
Why should religious people care about science?

Saint Mary’s very own Dr. Megan Girtman (Biology, SMUMN) and Father Kevin Stolt, IVE (Campus Ministry Chaplain) will be joined by guest panelists Mr. Brendon Panke ‘05 (UW-Madison, Center for Healthy Minds) and Dr. David Ronderos (U-Mary, Biology) who will represent perspectives stemming from Buddhism and Catholicism.

Dr. Chris Bobier, Associate Director of the Hendrickson Institute, will moderate the discussion.

Panel Title: “Science & Religion: Friends or Foes?”
Date & Time: Wednesday, March 9th at 7:00 pm
Location: President’s Room, Toner Student Center
