The Saint Mary’s Libraries are excited to welcome two new instruction librarians this fall, Katie Higley and Megan Pontious!
Katie Higley
Instruction and Resource Sharing Librarian

Katie is the new Instruction and Resource Sharing Librarian at the Fitzgerald Library on our Winona Campus. This position collaborates with Winona faculty to teach information literacy concepts, authors instructional materials, and delivers user-centered reference in addition to managing our interlibrary loan services. Katie recently graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Master’s in Library and Information Science and is a passionate advocate for lifelong learning. She looks forward to assisting patrons with their information needs. When she’s not working, you can find her reading a thriller, watching Lions football, and playing with her cat, Eliza.
Megan Pontious
Instruction and Faculty Outreach Librarian

Megan is the new Instruction and Faculty Outreach Librarian position at the Minneapolis Library. This position collaborates with faculty to teach information literacy concepts to the graduate and doctoral students in the School of Health and Human Services, authors instructional materials, and delivers user-centered reference. Megan previously served as the Library Services Coordinator at our Minneapolis Library. Megan graduated from St. Kate’s with an Master’s in Library Science degree. She grew up and currently lives in White Bear Lake, MN.
Katie and Megan join Matt Isaia on our Libraries instruction team. Matt is our Instruction and Online Outreach Librarian at the Minneapolis Library and provides instruction for the graduate and doctoral students in the School of Business and Technology and the School of Education. These friendly and passionate individuals are here to work with faculty to teach critical information literacy concepts to our students so they become ethical independent researchers.
