Let’s help the Winona Advocacy Center spread the love

As Valentine’s Day is approaching, and because everyone needs to know they are loved… that someone notices them… acknowledges their existence… that someone genuinely cares about the health and well-being of others–even those who they have never before met, we invite students, faculty, and staff of our Saint Mary’s community to write out empowering, caring, heartfelt messages to the domestic abuse victims that the Winona Advocacy Center serves. Every day matters, and every person matters, and sometimes days, such as Valentine’s Day, can be especially hard for abuse victims, and people who sometimes feel alone in the world.

Blank-on-the-inside “You are Loved” cards are available at the front desk in the Student Success and First Generation Initiative Center, located in Griffin Hall, 70.

If you are located in our Minneapolis SGPP (graduate) campus, and would like to contribute, please email your message to Jennifer Hanifl, Director of First Generation Initiative at jhanifl@smumn.edu and your message will be transferred to the card.

Please return your card (or email your message) by Thursday, February 9, as they will be delivered to the Winona Advocacy Center the following day, at which point they will distribute the cards as they see fit.
