Heralding the Advent season, the Saint Mary’s University Concert Choir and Band invite you and your loved ones to the beautiful Chapel of Saint Mary of the Angels (1160 W Wabasha St.) for a free, family-friendly program. With a variety of styles including medieval chants, triumphant fanfares, gospel choruses and traditional carols, we are pulling out all the stops! Our event begins at 7:30 P.M. and as you arrive prelude music will fill the church. Father James Burns will be leading our prayer along with students and members of our wonderful campus ministry staff as they proclaim the scripture passages. With beloved pieces by composers such as Morten Lauridsen and James Swearingen you are in for a holiday treat! While this will be the final concert for Dr. Michael Bagby here at Saint Mary’s University before he begins his new music position at Loras College, he wishes to express his appreciation. “What I have cherished most at Saint Mary’s is the people. The students, faculty, staff, and administrators are truly dedicated to this community and live out the principles established by La Salle. I will be forever grateful and still hope to find ways to collaborate down the road. Thank you and God bless.”
