Saint Mary’s is honored to welcome professor Kristján Kristjánsson, who will present “Universities as Schools of Friendship.” Kristjánsson is a professor of character education and virtue ethics at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom and the deputy director of the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtue. Kristjánsson has written extensively in general education, moral education, educational psychology, moral philosophy, and political philosophy. His most recent book, Friendship for Virtue, focuses on an Aristotelian understanding of friendship
