University faculty and staff are invited to an open house to welcome the new Chief Financial Officer, Fernando Bucaro, to the Saint Mary’s community.
Join us on the Minneapolis Campus, Tuesday, Mar. 5, 9:00-10:00 a.m. in Martin de Porres Hall or on the Winona Campus, Wednesday, Mar. 20, 9:00-10:00 a.m., in the President’s Room, Toner Student Center. Faculty and staff are encouraged to stop in for conversation and refreshments!
Bucaro began his duties at Saint Mary’s on Feb. 19. He has a finance and accounting background from both the corporate and higher education fields. Bucaro served as director of finance for the Office of the Vice President for Research at the University of Minnesota, and worked for Minnesota-based companies that include Carlson, General Mills, and Cargill.
“I like to utilize numbers to tell stories, and set the direction of an organization so they can move forward into the future,” Bucaro said. “Here at Saint Mary’s, that provides me an opportunity to help a younger generation. I see an opportunity to help develop young leaders who are more well-rounded and really want to help their communities.”
Outside of work, Bucaro enjoys traveling, having visited 80 different countries. He is married to his wife Pamela and has two daughters.
