Saint Mary’s University will welcome motivational speaker Mark Potter today at 7 p.m. in Page Theatre for an open-to-the-public presentation on mental health!
Potter will share his personal journey of overcoming severe depression during the peak of his coaching career, offering valuable insights on managing pressure, overcoming failure and embarrassment, tracking negative thoughts, and setting achievable goals. His message is designed to help employees, businesses, advisors, colleges, students, and teams reach their full potential.
Additionally, his wife Nanette will share her perspective on supporting those living with someone facing mental illness.
Throughout his 30-year coaching career, Potter noticed that many students arrived at college without the necessary tools to face life’s challenges and adversities.
A five-time Coach of the Year, Potter was also named one of the top 15 most influential figures in the Wichita sports community. He has been inducted into the Cowley College Hall of Fame, the Newman University Hall of Fame, and the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame.
