Invite SGPP Students to apply for Future of Work Institute

Thanks to generous grants from the Catholic Community Foundation and the League of Catholic Women, Career Services will be offering scholarships for 40 SGPP students to participate in Deloitte’s virtual Future of Work Institute™. Please invite your students to apply to participate in this opportunity to support their career goals.

Deloitte is the Global Leader in Workforce Management Consulting and the Global Leader in Leadership Development (by ALM Vanguard). The award-winning Future of Work team draws upon global data & trends in their work with clients across the US, including more than 500 higher education institutions, on transformational efforts to reimagine their work, workforce, and workplaces of the future.

The Future of Work Institute™ brings Deloitte’s global reach and leading insights and data on the jobs, skills, and industries of tomorrow to prepare the next generation to thrive as members of the workforce.

The Future of Work Institute™ offers an innovative suite of micro credential learning experiences that equip learners with human skills that are common across all careers, amplifies their resiliency and adaptive mindset in the face of constant change, and provides the framework and environment to envision and design a fulfilling, meaningful work life.

The Institute credential includes a 4-session virtual bootcamp to develop a common foundation for what the Future of Work means, including supplemental modules on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and networking to apply knowledge, and a final graduation ceremony to reflect upon the experience. Upon completion participants will earn a Deloitte credential through Credly.

Eligibility requirements:

· Current student in the School of Graduate & Professional Programs at Saint Mary’s University

· Able to participate in all 4 virtual sessions being offered from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, September 28, October 5, and October 12.

All SGPP students from any degree program, academic background, work experience, or career goals that can meet the requirement to participate in all four sessions are encouraged to apply.

Application deadline: Friday, September 8, 2023

Program Dates: The program will take place virtually on Thursdays – September 21, September 28, October 5, and October 12 – from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. CT. Participants are required to attend all four sessions.

Program Schedule:

Session 1 – WORK: How is the world of work changing? How does this new world of work align to your unique preferences, skills, and life design? How might this change over time?

Session 2 – WORKFORCE: What is it like to thrive in today’s complex workforce? What does it mean to be a team player and a leader? What are your personal commitments as a leader?

Session 3 – WORKPLACE: How are employers envisioning the future of the workplace, and how does this align with your preferences around well-being and work-life fit? How can you prepare for meaningful connections in any environment?

Session 4 – ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI): Learn how the future of work is being impacted by AI as well as basic AI language and career possibilities / certifications in the field.

NETWORKING: Experience a customized networking workshop with Deloitte practitioners to foster and build the skills necessary for job interviews.

Notification Process:

All SGPP students that apply will be notified of their scholarship to participate in the Institute by no later than Monday, September 11, 2023

Students offered a scholarship to participate in the program and must confirm their space with Career Services by Thursday, September 13, 2023.

Any students placed on the waitlist will be notified by Friday, September 15 if a space becomes available.

All confirmed students will receive further communication from Deloitte Future of Work Institute™ prior to the start of the program containing additional information and the link to join the program.
