The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has noted an increase in influenza cases among young adults, especially in college and university settings.  With hospitals already struggling to keep up with COVID-19 cases, it’s even more important to prevent additional hospitalizations from influenza.  The best way to reduce hospitalizations and protect yourself and others from influenza is to get vaccinated.

Influenza vaccination is recommended for everyone, age 6 months and older.

Vaccination is available at most pharmacies and clinics and is usually covered by insurance at no cost. Some communities offer free vaccination.
