We are writing to share with you a GoFundMe page that we set up for Martin Hernandez, a longtime employee of the Minneapolis Campus. The funds raised will be used to assist him and his family for current and future medical expenses. As you recall, Martin underwent two surgeries, a kidney transplant in May and another shortly after on his arm that was severely broken. Both surgeries went well. We first shared Martin’s story in June of 2024 in an issue of SMU Today. He was on the donor list and doing dialysis for 7 years and finally received a donor kidney. The doctor said he received the best kidney available and is progressing nicely. While Martin is doing well, he has a long recovery and a lot of medical expenses related to the transplant and the medications he will continue to take going forward.
